Maharashtra Tertiary Care and Medical Education Sector Development Program in collaboration with Asian Development Bank

Maharashtra Tertiary Care and Medical Education Sector Development Program (MTCMESDP) in collaboration with Asian Development Bank aims to improve access to quality, affordable tertiary health care and strengthen medical education across Maharashtra, with a special focus on underserved districts. Supported by the Asian Development Bank, the program combines policy reforms with investments to build and upgrade government medical colleges and teaching hospitals. Key interventions include expanding tertiary care infrastructure, increasing the availability and equitable distribution of skilled medical professionals, improving drug procurement systems, and advancing digital health and performance management. The program also emphasizes gender equity, climate-resilient health infrastructure, and institutional capacity building to create a more resilient, inclusive, and efficient health system for the state.
